Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 4, 2026
This policy explains how Jordan Evans ("we," "us") handles information in the Morning Launch app ("the App"). Using the App means you accept this policy.
The short version
- Your data lives on your device. There is no Morning Launch account and no server of ours that stores or syncs your personal data.
- We don't track you. There are no ads and no third-party analytics.
- The only personal data the App uses is your location, and only to work out commute and arrival times.
What the App uses
Location
With your permission, the App uses your location (approximate and precise) to calculate commute times and arrival estimates. In our App Store privacy details this is declared as:
- Purpose: app functionality only.
- Not linked to your identity.
- Not used to track you across other apps or websites.
The permission prompt says exactly this: "Morning Launch uses your location to calculate commute times and arrival estimates." You can change or revoke location access whenever you like in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
Things you create, kept on your device
Alarms, morning plans, saved destinations, imported or recorded sounds, and your preferences are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData and an app-group container. This stays on the device. We don't receive it, and it isn't synced to any server.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your name, email, contacts, photos, or browsing history, and we don't run user accounts or profiles.
Connecting other services
The App can connect to other services so you can search for and play media, see maps and weather, and sign in where a service needs it. When you use one of these, that service's own terms and privacy policy govern what it does with your information.
YouTube
The App uses YouTube API Services. By using the YouTube features you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to information handled through the YouTube API.
- What's accessed: the search terms you type and the resulting video details — titles, thumbnails, video IDs — so you can pick a video to open at alarm time.
- If you sign in with Google: signing in is optional and only powers the "browse your own YouTube library" feature (your playlists). Google handles the sign-in and returns your account details to Google's SDK on your device so it can call the YouTube API on your behalf. We display your account name in Settings so you can see you're signed in. We don't store your Google name or email ourselves, and we don't send them to any server of ours.
- Revoking access: you can revoke the App's access to your Google data anytime at Google security settings, or sign out in the App.
- Questions: support@morninglaunch.app.
Spotify
If you connect Spotify, the App uses the Spotify Web API and Spotify's authentication so you can search for and choose tracks or playlists and open or control playback in Spotify. Spotify's terms and privacy policy govern this. You can disconnect Spotify anytime in the App's Settings or in your Spotify account.
Apple services
The App uses Apple frameworks that process data on-device or through Apple:
- MusicKit / Apple Music and Apple Podcasts — to search for and open content.
- MapKit / Apple Maps — to search destinations and show routes.
- WeatherKit — to show weather for your destination. Weather comes from Apple Weather, and the App shows the required attribution.
Apple's use of this information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
A note on purchases
The App does not currently offer in-app purchases, and it collects no purchase or billing data. If we turn on in-app purchases in a future version, we'll update this policy, our App Store privacy details, and the App's privacy manifest before that version ships, and we'll describe what the purchase provider collects at that time.
How we use information
We use this information only to run the App: to work out your wake, leave, and arrival times, show maps and weather, and let you search for and open media. We don't use it for advertising or to build a profile of you.
How information is shared
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it for advertising or tracking. Information goes only to the services listed above, and only as much as a feature needs — for example, sending a search term to YouTube or Spotify when you search. We expect any such service to protect your data consistent with this policy and the law.
Keeping and deleting your data
Because your data is on your device, you're in control:
- Delete individual alarms, plans, destinations, or sounds in the App.
- Disconnect Google or Spotify in the App's Settings, or in that service's account settings.
- Deleting the App removes its on-device data from your device.
Your privacy rights
EEA / UK (GDPR). Where it applies, you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Because the App keeps data on your device and runs no account, you exercise most of these rights directly on the device. Our legal basis for processing location is performing the App's core function at your request, together with your consent through the system permission.
California (CCPA/CPRA). We don't "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined, and we don't use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents have rights to know, delete, and not be treated differently for using those rights.
To make a request or ask a question, email support@morninglaunch.app.
Children
The App isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has given us personal information, email support@morninglaunch.app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date above, and for material changes we'll add an in-app notice where it makes sense.
